Abstract

Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries and reshaping our world, but its reliance on vast quantities of personal data presents significant challenges to privacy and security. This article examines the complexities of protecting personal data in the age of AI, exploring the ethical and practical considerations surrounding data privacy, consent, transparency, and security. We analyze the unique risks introduced by AI, including the potential for data bias to perpetuate discrimination, the opacity of algorithmic decision-making processes, and the increasing sophistication of attacks targeting sensitive information. The evolving regulatory landscape adds another layer of complexity, as organizations grapple with navigating diverse and sometimes conflicting data protection laws. This article offers a practical guide to best practices for safeguarding personal data in an AI-driven world. We discuss data minimization techniques to limit the collection of personal information, encryption methods to secure data in transit and at rest, and anonymization strategies to protect individual identities.
