In the pharmaceutical industry, the protection of sensitive data is paramount due to the
sector's regulatory requirements and the potential consequences of data breaches. This paper
investigates the integration of Identity and Access Management (IAM) with Data Loss Prevention
(DLP) strategies to enhance data security within pharmaceutical companies. By leveraging IAM
frameworks, organizations can establish strict access controls and monitoring mechanisms that
align with DLP objectives. The study analyzes the synergies between IAM and DLP, highlighting
how effective identity governance can mitigate risks associated with unauthorized access to
sensitive data. Through a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative analysis and qualitative
interviews with industry experts, the research identifies best practices for implementing integrated
IAM and DLP solutions. The findings suggest that a cohesive strategy not only strengthens data
protection but also fosters compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and GDPR.
Ultimately, this paper provides a framework for pharmaceutical companies seeking to enhance
their data security posture by integrating IAM and DLP strategies.
